Termites (White Ants)

The most common termites in Malaysia are Subterranean Termite. Subterranean termite nest resides under the soil. And craw up to the wooden structural and connecting tubes from the soil to the bottom of the structure. They can make severe damage to your property. We can get rid of those pests by spot treatment with either non-toxic or traditional termiticide. We can provide preventive treatment and alternative service for the structures.

Subterranean Termites

Subterranean Termites are the most common and the most damaging pest in Malaysia.

Drywood Termites

Drywood termites are termites that live in dry wood, meaning it doesn't need to be in contact with soil.

Termites or white ants

Dampwood termites

Dampwood termites are termites with a vast population that live in damp forested areas, a species of dampwood termite is the largest termite in North America.

Behaviour of Termites

  • Termites feed on the cellulose in timber but can embark on exploratory feeding thus damaging electrical wiring, PVC conduits, etc.
  • They enter a building through cracks less than ½ mm wide and you will normally notice their existence only after extensive damage is done.
  • A mature nest contains millions of termites with the Queen Termite living up to 20 years underground and laying 20,000 eggs per day.

Reproduction Process

  • Female house flies can lay as many as 3 to 7 batches of eggs in a lifetime, for a total of approximately 500 eggs. Once the eggs hatch, they quickly develop into maggots: short, white, worm-like creatures that feed on rotting organic matter.

  • They exist as maggots for approximately one week, after which they enter the pupa stage of their development. They inflate their skin, which becomes a reddish-brown cocoon. After 4-6 days, they then emerge as fully grown house flies. In this final stage of life, house flies can typically live between two weeks and one month.

Potential risks they pose

  • Causing major problems

They can destroy valuable documents, cause electrical short-circuits and consequently fires.

  • Financially damaging

Ceilings, roof rafters, window / door frames, timber floors and wall panels are all prone to termite attacks which can prove financially damaging, and in certain situations pose unnecessary dangers.

Control Method

  • Ground soil treatments are applied as a preventive measure against subterranean termites.
  • Offer a chemical barrier, which is intended to block all potential routes of termite entry, such as cold joints in the concrete, crevices at plumbing stub outs and open spaces for other utility lines.

This method to create termiticidal barrier up to 40mm trick around the perimeter ground beams and column of the building. These termiticidal barriers will act as a protective shield against termites intrusion.

In order to inject termiticide to the soil under the building slab, small holes (20mm dia) will be drilled through the slab at 40-60mm apart to the nearest point from the vertical wall where seem necessary.

After injection the drilled holes will be filed with cement or other similar suitable material to blend with the existing surface appearance.

ACE Performance will issue a time warranty after completion. During the warranty period an fresh infestation will be treated without additional charges.

If you've ever seen live termite workers or looked at a picture of termites in their nest, you've probably gotten the impression that they look almost larval. They don't have hard exoskeletons like many insects do. Instead, they look soft and milky. Termites look larval because in a lot of ways, they are larval. The only fully mature termites in an entire colony are the the king and the queen. Even the other reproductive are neotenic - they are sexually mature but have larval qualities.

This perpetual larval state gives termites a lot of flexibility. Basically, all termites start as eggs, and all eggs are capable of developing into any caste. The eggs hatch into larval, and through a series of molts, the larval develop into workers. The workers can undergo a two-stage molt and become soldiers. Older termites can even undergo regressive molts and go back to an earlier stage.

Xterm™ is a termite baiting technology, incorporating a palatable matrix infused with an efficient active ingredient.

TERMITES CAN’T RESIST THE TEMPTATION,

CAN’T SURVIVE THE ELIMINATION

The Xterm™ matrix is made of pure compressed cellulose. The bait ingredient is a new generation Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that affects the moulting process of termites. Compressed cellulose tablets of the bait are held inside sealed cartridges, which are themselves placed inside specially designed bait stations, making the Xterm™ baiting system extra safe in sensitive areas.

Xterm™ Above-Ground Termite Bait Stations should be installed by trained pest management professionals after a thorough inspection. During the initial deployment of Xterm™ only one cartridge is normally placed in the bait station. Scheduled inspections follow. When this cartridge is depleted, a second is placed in the slot next to the first, so reducing disturbance of the feeding termites, and minimizing the chances of their abandoning the bait station.

Xterm™ In-Ground Termite Bait Stations are installed with a monitoring bait cartridge that contains no active ingredient, When termites are detected, a bait cartridge with active ingredient is simply put on top of the monitoring cartridge. This simple bait replenishment method allows easy and flexible inspection with the least amount of disturbance.
